Black and white
The black and white is not a color photo from which the color has been removed. In my profession, I often explain that black and white is not improvised. A successful monochrome image is never a “simple removal of saturation,” but a thoughtful intention from the moment of shooting.
Black and white imposes its own logic: precise light ratios, shadow construction, a hierarchy of grays, and contrast conceived as a language in its own right. It is a universe where every detail matters, and where the absent color forces light to tell everything. When the scene is designed for this in advance—model placement, source power, material texture—the result naturally becomes timeless.
A well‑thought black and white photo does not age. It transcends time because it puts the essential in front: emotion, shape, the soul of the subject. In a world saturated with quick images, returning to this demanding discipline is, for me, a way to create original, authentic… and lasting portraits.
A big thank you to the whole team.
